Thursday Night NFL Intel
Every AFC North team sits at 2-1, and Thursday's winner takes sole possession of first place, at least for a few days. It's also Aaron Rodgers' final scheduled Thursday night start, in a game that matters in the standings. Rookie KC Concepcion Jr. and Harold Fannin Jr. have become Cleveland's two most-targeted players, and DK Metcalf is still trying to get untracked for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is favored by about a field goal on the road, but this one reads more like a style clash than a shootout.

Nine of Metcalf's 24 targets this season have traveled 20 or more yards downfield, and he has not caught any of them. The model flags a 46% catch rate on his looks, well under the usual 64% most receivers convert. That profile points to the under: deep shots, not a big catch total.
Concepcion, a rookie, already leads Cleveland with 24% of the team's targets this season, a heavy share for a receiver, and he's averaging four catches a game through three weeks. That kind of usage keeps four catches within reach. This is a volume play more than anything fancy.
Fannin has topped 50 receiving yards in each of his last two games and is averaging 42 a game for the season. His targets have climbed every week, from 3 to 6 to 9, and he has caught 14 of 18 this season. That workload gives him a real path to clear 40.5 again.
The model likes Cleveland's passing game against a Steelers defense allowing 6.5 yards per pass play this season, 12th-softest in the league. Pittsburgh traded corner Joey Porter Jr., who had not played this season, to Dallas this week, and Jalen Ramsey is questionable with a wrist injury. Rico Dowdle is out at running back for the Steelers. Kickoff is 8:15 PM ET at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
