Wednesday Night MLB Intel
Trevor Story's swing has quietly cooled to contact mode over his last ten games, Ozzie Albies is scuffling but still gets a total bases number that barely asks anything of him, and Randy Arozarena's the one player on this card actually hitting the ball with authority right now. Three very different profiles, three plays the model likes for very different reasons. Let's get into what's actually going on with each guy tonight.

Trevor StoryLAA @ BOS · Fenway Park6:45 PM ET Story's been solid over his last 10, 13-for-41, a .317 clip, with 4 RBI mixed in. But that's a lot of empty-ish contact, not a lot of extra-base thump, and the projection here sits at 1.1 against a 1.5 line. Books have this at -148, which tells you the market already knows Story's been more of a singles-and-simplicity guy than a total-bases machine lately. When a hitter's running a good average without much power showing up in the box score, the under on total bases is exactly the shape you want to bet.
Ozzie AlbiesTB @ ATL · Truist Park7:15 PM ET Albies is in a rough patch, 6-for-38 over his last 10 games, a .158 average that isn't going to fool anyone. But this line only needs one single, and a hitter this talented isn't going 0-for-4 with no ball in play every night. He does have a homer and an RBI mixed into that cold stretch, proof the bat still has life even when the average says otherwise. At -137, the market is basically betting Albies breaks out of an 0-fer, and given his track record that's a bet worth making back at him.
Randy ArozarenaTEX @ SEA · T-Mobile Park4:10 PM ET Arozarena's the best form play on this board. Over his last 10 games he's 11-for-39, a .282 average with 2 home runs and 9 RBI, the kind of stretch where the ball is finding grass and the barrel is finding the ball. A hit here is a low bar for a guy running that kind of production, and the projection backs it up at 1.0 against a half-hit line. This is as straightforward as reading a hot bat and betting it stays hot.
Two of these three plays hinge on total bases rather than raw hits, and that distinction matters. Story's under leans on a hitter making contact without driving the ball, while Albies' over just needs one clean knock to cash regardless of how ugly the rest of his last 10 games have looked. Arozarena is the outlier: real form, real power, and a market number that undersells what he's doing right now.
