EP Model Perfect on Monday Slates, Three Playoff Plays Tonight
Happy Monday. Let's start the week right.
After a solid weekend for the model, we're riding that momentum with three playoff props where the matchups and projections align beautifully: Donovan Mitchell torching Detroit's porous backcourt defense in a must-win home game, Austin Reaves getting every touch he can handle in an elimination spot for the Lakers, and Evan Mobley finally breaking through against a Pistons frontcourt that bleeds production to power forwards. Full picks and tonight's watch list are in the app.
Donovan Mitchell Mitchell has been unstoppable in this series against Detroit, posting 35 points with 10 rebounds in Game 3, 31 points in Game 2, and 23 points in Game 1. We're projecting 34.7 points plus assists against a 30.5 line for a +4.2 edge at 99 EP Score. Detroit ranks 2nd-worst defensively against shooting guards, allowing 36.0 P+A to the position, and Mitchell is playing at home in Game 4 with Cleveland looking to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. He's getting 32.4% usage and has clearly established himself as the primary offensive engine in this matchup.
Austin Reaves Reaves has been inconsistent in this Thunder series (31 points and 6 assists in Game 2, then 17 points and 9 assists in Game 3), but the volume is locked in for an elimination game. We're projecting 30.1 points plus assists for a +2.6 edge at 95 EP Score. Oklahoma City ranks 9th defensively against shooting guards, allowing 35.7 P+A to the position, and with Luka Dončić sidelined, Reaves is handling 26.9% usage as the Lakers' primary creator. He's still working back from an oblique strain and went 0-for-9 from three in his first two games back, but the desperation spot at home should unlock the usage he needs to clear this number.
Evan Mobley Mobley has underperformed in the first three games of this series, averaging just 22.3 combined points, rebounds, and assists against Detroit, but the matchup fundamentals are too strong to ignore. We're projecting 29.4 for a +1.9 edge at 94 EP Score. Detroit ranks 12th defensively against power forwards, allowing 34.7 P+R+A to the position, and Mobley's season average sits at 30.8. His last five games show 28.4 combined, right in range of this line, and Cleveland is at home in Game 4 looking to push the series to 3-1. The playoff slump is real, but the volume and matchup are there for a bounce-back performance. Lean over.
Watch List
Chet Holmgren u17.5 PTS. Projects at 15.9 against a Lakers defense that ranks 10th against power forwards. Holmgren has been excellent in this series (24, 22, 18 points in Games 1-3), but Oklahoma City is an 11.5-point favorite, and the Thunder have been resting starters in fourth quarters during blowouts. The projection favors the under, but his recent form and the potential for a competitive game create uncertainty.
Austin Reaves o21.5 PTS. Projects at 24.1 for a +2.6 edge, but Reaves has been wildly inconsistent in this series (8, 31, 17 points on inefficient shooting). He’s still working back from an oblique strain and went 0-for-9 from three in his first two games back. The elimination context and 26.9% usage support the over, but the recent shooting struggles and defensive pressure from OKC make this one harder to trust than the P+A play.
